Brunch at Boulon Brasserie and Bakery: An Elevated Weekend Staple in Tampa

January 25, 2026

If you’re looking for an upscale, modern brunch spot in Tampa that feels elevated without being stuffy, Boulon is always a solid choice. It’s polished, vibrant, and consistently delivers on both atmosphere and food.

Atmosphere & Vibe

Boulon’s space is modern and light-filled, with clean lines, beautiful natural light, and an overall upscale yet welcoming feel. The crowd is a mix of families, couples, and friend groups out for a relaxed but elevated brunch, which makes it feel lively without ever becoming overwhelming. They do run the AC quite cold though, so bringing a light layer is a good idea.

One of my favorite touches is the live music on weekends (starting after 12 PM). It adds energy and ambiance without being so loud that you can’t hear the person across the table. There is also outdoor seating with booth-style tables, which is perfect on those rare Tampa days that are warm but not too warm.

The surrounding Water Street area is beautiful for a post-brunch walk, which makes this spot feel more like a full experience than just a meal.

Dinner Note: While Boulon is one of my favorite brunch spots in Tampa, it’s not my top choice for dinner. At night, the space transitions into more of a bar atmosphere, and it tends to get quite loud. If you’re looking for an intimate or conversation-friendly dinner setting, brunch is definitely where Boulon shines most.

Parking: The Cumberland parking garage is the closest option, and valet is also available. The garage used to be less expensive, but on our most recent visit, parking was $15 for about 2–2.5 hours.

 Food Review & Recommendations

Blue Crab Beignets
Light, fresh, and perfectly balanced. They’re soft on the inside with a slight crisp on the outside, paired with a mayo aioli and fresh lemon. It’s an ideal shareable bite to kick off brunch. Highly recommend.

Shrimp Nola
Their refined take on shrimp and grits. It’s lighter than traditional versions while still delivering that comforting Southern flavor. Think elevated comfort food done right. Highly recommend.

Croissant Sandwich
Recently updated. I preferred the previous version slightly more, but it’s still very good. The flavor combination of the buttery croissant with savory egg and bacon works beautifully. Highly recommend.

Fresh Berries
When they’re fresh, they’re great. This visit they were perfect, though consistency can vary a bit.

Service & Experience

Service at Boulon is consistently excellent. The staff is warm, welcoming, and personable without feeling overly formal, which I really appreciate. Even though it’s an upscale space, the energy remains relaxed and friendly.

A nice touch is that the morning manager typically makes their way around the dining room to check in with each table, which adds a thoughtful, hospitality-driven feel to the experience.
